Montrose - MTJ: The area's biggest regional airport with services from most commercial airlines is only a scenic 75 minute drive from Telluride. Rental cars and shuttle options are available from this airport. Please note, Lyft or Uber rides are not always available from this airport therefore we recommend booking ground transportation services in advance.

Telluride - TEX: This small regional airport offers commercial service from PHX and DEN via Denver Air Connection. It also offers FBO services (KTEX).

Turo Car Rental: Cars are not a necessity during your stay if you are in Mountain Village or in Town as the communities are connected via the free Gondola and are very walkable. If you plan on exploring the region, or are renting a house in Mountain Village that is not near the gondola, you may want to rent a car. Note, Mountain Village rentals will have access to a car service called Dial-a-Ride that can shuttle you to the gondola system.

Telluride Carts: Electric carts are a great way to navigate Telluride & Mountain Village. Note, these are only allowed in town limits and you must be 25+ to drive.
The beauty of Telluride is its remote location, however, that does make getting there a bit tricky.We highly recommend making your travel plans early.
Lodging
Whether you are staying in Town or Mountain Village, you are never far from the action as the free gondola runs between them from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and till 2am on Friday & Saturday.

Air conditioning is not common practice at high altitude and most rely on fresh mountain air, open windows and fans to keep rooms cool. The only property in Telluride that is fully air conditioned is The Madeline, however, many properties do have limited units with AC. If this is a required amenity we recommend you call the property to confirm.
